Liebeskind Research Award 2000 atribuído ao inventor da tecnologia

Um dos principais prémios de investigação
cientifíca nos EUA, na área da dor, foi atribuído
ao Dr. Markoll, inventor da tecnologia PST, pela American Academy
of Pain Management. O motivo da atribuição deste prémio
foi o seguinte: "This award is given to an individual who was
made a significant accomplishment in research and/or teaching in
the field of multidisciplinary pain management. The 2000 recipient
of the John Liebeskind Award, Richard Markoll, MD, PhD, has earned
this distinction: through his many years of devotion to research
for application to the field of pain management.
Dr. Markoll received his PhD in Physical Chemistry
from the University of Cologne and did postgraduate research at
Ludwig Maxmillians University and Max Planck Institute in Munich.
He received his MD from Grace University, and did his internship
and subsequent training at John Hopkins and Yale University. Early
work includes research for diagnosis and treatment of painful syndromes
including arthritis, traumatic bone injury and basic science."
